how much calories in beef Pho?

i just done researching and said it's about between 450-750 calories. It also has around 30g of fat.

Thing is I hardly ever feel satiety any close as taking 500 calories from oatmeal.

I ordered beef large pho, my usual menu. I always feel like I am taking far less than 500 calores when eating pho. Some might say because noodles and beefs are thin so it's easier to digest.. could be true.

But I am guessing it's because all the fats are melted in the soup and I don't drink that half gallon of soup when I am finished with pho, I don't want to get bloated drinking all that soup.

I only had couple scoops of soup, so excluding the most fat, I think the noodle I had is probably around 450-500calories.

FYI: The name of the food does not determine caloric content. The portion size matters as does the specific ingredients used in the dish.

well i ate at the restaurant today so I don't know how much stuffs they put in there, thats why I am only estimating.
but fat alone in the soup is half the calories, and since I dont drink the soup much, I am guessing the lowest calory (450) is more accurate than highest 750. Plus my stomach kind of knows how much calories it might have been. I felt full just slightly below oatmeal. (had low appetite during oatmeal also)

Satiety's not a good indicator of calorie count because of how much oil they could put in your food. It's extremely difficult to know the difference between a tablespoon of butter and 3, but the calorie difference is big (240). And always overestimate when you eat out. Most servers do not follow the nutrition guidelines and just drown the food in oil/butter to make it taste better.

    Always learning.

actually most of pho soup is made with chicken, and its deep taste comes from long hours of boiling the bone and its bone marrow start melting in the water. I know the taste of that and even vietnamese chefs agreed they do.
and no, not gunna overestimate unless I finish that half gallon of soup. I usually end up getting hungry so soon whereas other foods with same calories doesn't. 30g of fat is a lot of fat and they are dissolved in hot water. That's a lot of calories just alone in the soup, not in the noodle. Maybe some fats didnt dissolve and still on the beef, so Im gunna estimate maybe 1/3 of it is taken to my body.
I doubt they put butter.. I never tasted any butter at all, my tongue is very sensitive.
dont rely on satiety u say? I been using macro for years and believe it or not my body can easily tell how much calories I take even just looking at the foods before eating it and without looking at the nutrition label at all. Ofc after eating its even more accurate.

nobodys responding this thread, so here is my conclusion. If you don't drink the soup (as in finishing the whole soup) when u order the pho with the meat, you will get a lot less calories. PERIOD!

    vietnamese brah checking in.

it really depends how big the portion size is and how fatty the beef they put in is. and in some restaurants, they braise the bones in the soup so the bone marrow is rendered into the soup. thats where so much of the fat comes from.

but you can just eyeball it, it should be around 60-80c / 30-40p / 25-40f

What is the point of this thread?

You obviously weren't asking for advice, as you've disagreed with all of the advice you've been given. Did you just want to let people know?
